Let us now help you both embark on your exciting journey...
PAPERWORK
All relevant paperwork should be with the registrar at least 12 weeks prior to the wedding date. You are also required to pick up your marriage schedule in person and bring it along on the big day. All brides or grooms need to either phone or write to the following: Registrar of Birth, Death and Marriages, Fife Council, City Chambers, Kirkgate, Dunfermilne, KY12 7ND or call: Karen Henderson on: 03451 555555, extension 493958.
MAID OF THE FORTH
No food or drink is allowed on the Island, only drinks through the Maid of the Forth can be consumed on both the Island and boat.
ON ARRIVAL
All guests may and can be encouraged to shower you with gifts, but unfortunately no showering of confetti is permitted on the Island. Also all beautiful brides are advised to bring suitable shoes for the boat trip and short walk to the Abbey - so your Cinderella shoes remain sparkling for your Prince Charming.
The Abbey can hold a maximum of 100 guests, which makes it an ideal venue to both larger weddings and intimate gathering. Weddings are held between April and the 31 Oct, the journey starts at 12.15pm and anchors at 3.30pm then the celebrations begin. Both your future husband and your guests will be left waiting and wandering on your emanate arrival, as you can be hidden away in the captains quarters until you make your grand entrance into the Abbey. Brides should arrive 15 minutes before the rest of the guests in order to keep the fairytale going until the end (wedding ceremony).
RESTRICTIONS
There is no mains power on the Island, so only battery operated music can be used. Also no candles unless LED tea lights and we advise a maximum of two floral arrangements in the Abbey.
Other Services
Decoration hire is also available for the Abbey. These include LED candles and spectacular realistic flower arrangements to make full use of the dramatic setting.
I can also advise on entertainment such as bands, pipers and DJs, and a respectable coach company and taxi services for your guests should you require any assistance.
I am also delighted to inform you that in 20 years, no wedding has not gone ahead due to weather conditions, however if this were to happen you have the opportunity to be married on the boat!
All terms and conditions must be adhered to. All deposits and payment made in full within the required time frame to ensure booking confirmation with all parties involved.
